Our Mission To improve the quality of life of our patients by healing wounds and preventing amputations using state of the art medical technology and the highest quality wound care therapy.

Incorporated in 2005, Ontario Wound Care Inc. is a registered charitable organization that offers treatment for chronic non-healing wounds utilizing Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Under the leadership of Dr. Ron Linden, Medical Director and CEO, Ontario Wound Care Inc. treats patients and conducts research from its newly built facility, the Judy Dan Wound Care Centre in Toronto, Ontario.

Working in cooperation with the Program for Assessment of Technology in Health (PATH), Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University and staff of the University Health Network (Toronto General Hospital) and with funding from the Ontario Ministry of Health, we are conducting a Level 1 research trial into the treatment of diabetic wounds and the prevention of amputations.

As divers we must realize that we are a part of a greater community one which needs our support and attention. Below you may read about some of these "relatively unknown" conditions which affect a fellow diver, their family member or friend.

The nominations for 2009 were:

The Results

It is my pleasure to report that Etobicoke Underwater Club's Dive For a Cause committee had organized and executed a successful, safe and enjoyable 3rd annual Dive For a Cause. Our event partner Hart House Underwater Club was once again an integral part of the event both in organization as well as fund-raising efforts.

Our committee submitted eight (8) cheques totalling $3,485.74 to Judy Dan Centre. Combined with online donations of $960.30 as of October 7, 2009 we calculate the total Dive For a Cause funds raised for use within the Judy Dan Research & Treatment Centre to be $4,446.04. These funds are a result of countless hours of volunteer time combined with good will of many divers, families and friends.

The 2009 event featured over 50 participants many of whom volunteered to help make the event happen. We estimate the in-kind donations to approach $10,000.00. Scuba clubs, divers, friends, families and co-workers kindly donated funds with the intention that these funds will make a difference for future patients of the Judy Dan Centre.

Our committee wishes to thank our sponsors, Ontario Underwater Explorers (OUE) the organizers of the Scuba Swap and Scuba 2000 for their generous support of our event.

We wish to communicate our support for and encourage the Judy Dan Centre leadership to continue the work of making a difference for patients requiring Hyperbaric oxygen therapy. On behalf of all our participants we applaud the charitable work done this organization.
